Disability-Related Living Accommodations

If you have any non-standard housing related needs, please describe them in the Special Needs field of the online housing application.

Please notify us of any non-standard housing related needs by Friday, April 7, 2017, in order for the Summer Session Housing Office to best be able to accommodate your needs in time for your arrival.

It is important for us to be informed of non-standard individual housing needs as far in advance as possible. Due to the logistics involved, some requests received less than two months prior to the move-in date may not be implemented by the start of the session.

Examples of Non-Standard Accommodations

Below are some examples of non-standard needs:

  • roll-in shower 
  • automatic door opener 
  • strobe light fire alarm 
  • visual doorbell 
  • telephone landline
  • additional space for medical equipment 
  • you are bringing a service animal

Refrigeration

Students who require a refrigerator for a medical condition or holiday observance are responsible for renting a unit directly from College Products

Verification

Requests made on the basis of disability are subject to verification and supporting documentation may be requested. All information is kept confidential. 

Academic Accommodations

The process for requesting non-standard housing accommodations is independent of the process that students must use to obtain academic accommodations. For academic accommodations, please contact the Disabled Students Program
