Here are the ways to pay for housing. 

Full-time UC Berkeley Students (Continuing and Newly Admitted)

Advance Payment

To accept your housing offer, you must submit the $250.00 advance payment to confirm your contract.

Payment options:

Payment Option 1: CREDIT CARD
Pay by credit card online within the housing portal (Visa, MasterCard, Discover accepted).

Payment Option 2: CASHIER’S CHECK
(No personal checks will be accepted.)
Include remittance form generated in your housing application, and cashier's check in the mail by the due date specified on the remittance form.

  • Make the cashier’s check payable to “UC Regents.”
  • Mail the check to:

Payment Balance

The remaining balance of your Summer Sessions Housing contract fees will be billed to your CalCentral account. The charges will reflect on your August CalCentral bill.

It is your responsibility to ensure that payments are received on time, in order to avoid being subject to late fees and other sanctions.

Payment Schedule for Visiting Students

Visiting students are required to submit:

  • $250.00 Advance Payment to confirm your contract
  • Final payment by the final payment deadline for your session

If we do not receive your final payment by the final payment due date designated for your session, your contract will be terminated without notification and your $250.00 Advance Payment will be applied to your newly imposed $250.00 Termination Fee.

How to arrange a payment extension

If for any reason you cannot meet the final payment deadline, you must contact the Summer Sessions Housing Office in adance to request for an extension.

If you apply for housing on or after your session’s final payment due date, you will be required to complete the full payment upon acceptance of your Summer Sessions Housing contract offer.

Miscellaneous charges

Any additional miscellaneous charges, which include damage charges and key replacement charges, that may accrue on your account during your session in residence, are payable on or before August 11, 2017. It is your responsibility to pay any charges that you incur.

Continuing Students will see these charges billed to their August CalCentral bill. 

Visiting Students must pay for these charges at the Housing Cashier’s Office.

Financial Aid

Full-time UC Berkeley students receiving SUMMER FINANCIAL AID will only be required to submit the $250.00 Advance Payment upon acceptance of the Summer Sessions Housing contract. The remaining balance of the Summer Sessions Housing contract fees will be billed to your CalCentral bill in August. 

Financial Aid recipients' awards will be applied to the CalCentral bill. 

If you are a FULL TIME UC-BERKELEY STUDENT and are unable to make the full $250.00 Advance Payment AND are a SUMMER FINANCIAL AID RECIPIENT, you may email the Summer Sessions Housing Office at summerhousing@berkeley.edu or call (510) 642-5796 to request an advance payment fee waiver. You will be required to submit your “Accepted” Summer Financial Aid Offer Letter and Summer Course Schedule for verification.
