A note on sharing rooms in campus housing: Unless you are in a single room, you will be sharing the space with at least one other roommate. Choosing your bed space in your space should be an equitable conversation with your roommate and not determined on a “first-come, first-serve” basis. After moving in, your resident assistant will be working with you and your roommates to complete roommate agreement forms. This is meant to provide an opportunity for good communication and cooperation between roommates. We encourage you to begin these conversations with your roommate(s) prior to your arrival on campus. Furnishings in residence hall rooms
Rooms in residence halls are furnished with:
Twin extra-long (XL) single beds or bunk beds; triple rooms have a bunk bed and lofted bed
Desks, chairs, and drawer space for each student
Installed: Closets, mirrors, bookshelves, and lighting fixtures
Curtains on the windows
Amenities and utilities: Residence hall rooms have a Microchill refrigerator and microwave combo unit, a mini-bin for recycling and composting, and Wi-Fi access.
Flooring: Most residence halls have carpeted rooms. There are very few rooms without carpet, and they are typically reserved for students with a documented disability need.
Residence hall rooms have a Microchill refrigerator and microwave combo unit in the room. Most residence hall contracts include an Equipment Fee for the use of the Microchill unit. The fee is split among residents in a room, so your Equipment Fee will be lower if you share a room. This fee is included in our Living in a Residence Hall Financial Aid budget. Note that personal microwaves and refrigerators are not allowed in residence hall rooms.
Over 90 percent of the materials in most student-room waste streams are recyclable or compostable. To reduce the use of natural resources and the number of recyclables or compostables going to our landfills, Residential and Student Service Programs, in conjunction with Campus Recycling and Refuse, provide an innovative “mini bin” recycling and composting system in your residence hall. Landfill waste goes into the black desk-side mini bin.

Bedrooms in campus apartments are furnished with twin extra-long single beds,* desks, chairs, closets/armoires, dressers, mirrors, and shelving space. Rooms have lighting fixtures installed and curtains on the windows. Individual apartment furnishings are listed below.
*Most undergraduate apartments have extra-long twin-sized mattresses, with the following exceptions:

Bedrooms in unfurnished apartments: Built-in desk with rolling desk drawer and built-in bookshelf above the desk, wall-mounted mirror, and built-in closets with sliding doors, closet rod, and shelves.
Kitchen in furnished apartments: Micro-fridge, microwave, electric stove, and built-in cabinets. Also, a small drop-leaf table and two stools.
Kitchen in unfurnished apartments: Refrigerator, microwave, electric stove, and built-in cabinets.
Bathroom: Bathroom with sink, toilet, mirror, bathtub with showerhead, and built-in overhead cabinets for your convenience.
Bedroom: Full XL bed frame, mattress, dresser, desk, and chair. Two-bedroom apartments with private study have desk and chair in the study instead of bedroom.
Kitchen: Full refrigerator, microwave, stove, oven, dishwasher.
Living room: Couch, coffee table, TV Stand, dining table, and dining chairs.
Bathroom: A shared bathroom with essential fixtures for your convenience; shower curtain not included.
Other: In-unit washer and dryer.
Study: Desk and chair. Study is only available in our two-bedroom two-bath with private study apartments. Spaces are limited.
