xučyun ruwway FAQs

Keys at xučyun ruwway are accessed through the Livvi Door app. If you are having trouble with your keys, please review the steps and guidance below.

• Has your phone recently been updated or upgraded?

1. 1. 1. Once you change the phone (or the software) that you used to register with the Livvi Door App, you must re-register that device with the Livvi App. To complete this process, you must unregister your old phone from the app, re-register on the new app, and manually click “Allow” when prompted about Bluetooth access. After completing each of these steps, it should allow your door to unlock.

• Does your Key display an error message that reads “Not Yet Activated”?

1. 1. 1. Contact the XR Front Desk Staff so that they can use the Livvi Operator Account to activate your Room Key.

• Was your key already activated, but it doesn’t seem to be working right now?

• All Livvi App Users must ensure the following:

1. 1. 1. 1. Bluetooth - Bluetooth must be turned on AND allowed for the Livvi App in your phone’s app Settings. To enable this permission, go to Settings  > Permission Settings > Bluetooth > On/Always Allow.
         2. Placement on reader - To properly use the Livvi App, the app should be open, and the phone screen should be facing you as the back of the cell phone is held near the middle of the room key reader. (NOTE: The door may not unlock if you try to tap / place the top of your cell phone near the key reader).
         3. Hold for long enough - The Livvi App user must keep the app open/on and hold their phone near the key reader for long enough to feel a vibration on their phone and to hear an unlocking sound on the door. 
         4. [iPhone] Ensure IOS is updated - The Lvvi App user must have their phone updated to the most current iOS/compatible operating system.

• Does your Livvi Key work on your apartment door, but not your bedroom door?

1. 1. 1. Contact the XR Front Desk Staff so that they can use the Livvi Operator Account to reactivate your Room Key.

• Does your Google/Apple wallet activate when your phone is held near the key reader?

1. 1. If this issue seems to persist, the Livvi App user must remember to hold the backside of their phone to the middle of the key reader, NOT the top of their phone. 

If you need to place a non-urgent maintenance order for your room, you can submit your own online request through the following link: https://maintenance.housing.berkeley.edu.

Once you navigate to the Maintenance Website, select and respond to the following prompts:

Click the “Submit a Maintenance Request Button → Select the dropdown labeled “Zone” → Choose “ACC” → Select your Building > xučyun ruwway → Enter the Work Order information.

Graduate and Family Living will be supporting graduate students living at xučyun ruwway similarly to students living close to campus. For example, they will be supported by professional staff who are on-duty to respond to daytime and after-hours needs. There are community standards and guidelines which all residents will need to abide by.

Direct AC Transit buses to campus are available from the complex, which is located in Albany 3.5 miles northwest of campus. Specifically, we recommend taking AC Transit bus #52 which will have a designated bus stop right at the entrance to the building. Additionally, there is secured bicycle storage at the building and Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) is nearby as well. UC Berkeley students have free access to AC Transit via the AC Transit Student EasyPass.

No, the graduate housing agreement is a 12 month agreement that ends on July 31st. The undergraduate is 10 months with a move-out date on the Sunday after spring finals (May 18, 2025).
