Residence Hall Mini-Suites

Each mini-suite consists of two spacious bedrooms, plus its own bathroom with shower.

Mini-suites provide more privacy than traditional corridor-style communal residence halls. These mini-suites are located in Units 1 and 2, and consist of two bedrooms (each with double- or triple-occupancy) and a private bathroom.

Christian and Slottman mini-suites

2650 Durant Avenue – in Unit 1

The Christian and Slottman mini-suites are located in the Unit 1 complex, which is one block south of the Berkeley campus. Each mini-suite consists of two spacious bedrooms, either two double-occupancy bedrooms or one double-occupancy bedroom and one triple-occupancy bedroom, plus its own bathroom with shower.

Towle mini-suites

2650 Haste Street – in Unit 2

The Towle mini-suites are located in the Unit 2 complex on Haste Street west of College Avenue, three blocks from campus. Each mini-suite consists of two spacious bedrooms, either two double-occupancy rooms or one double- and one triple-occupancy room, plus its own bathroom with shower.

About mini-suites

Christian, Slottman, and Towle mini-suites are identical. The contemporary architecture of these buildings features polished concrete and glass, allowing abundant natural light. Mini-suites are a popular choice for students who want a lively student community, but with a quieter environment than a residence hall. Mini-suite amenities, such as bathrooms, are shared only with the residents of the mini-suite.

Most mini-suites face central courtyards with fresh landscaping. Below the Unit 1 and Unit 2 courtyards are each Unit’s offices and student mailboxes, the Academic Services Centers and Multi-Purpose Rooms, a small gym, and conference rooms. These are shared by each site’s original four high-rise towers.

Furnishings: Maple furniture, including extra-long twin-size beds with underbed drawers, and a bookcase, desk, desk chair, and closet with a three-drawer dresser.

Faculty in Residence program: Each mini-suite building includes an apartment where a faculty family lives, serving as a resource for students in the Unit complex.
