Nestled in the Berkeley hills on the northeast side of campus, Foothill is convenient to STEM buildings like the College of Engineering.
Buildings overlook the bay and provide access to nature and hiking trails.
Foothill Dining Commons is located on-site, and boasts high ceilings, windows, and wood panelling.
Foothill has seven all-gender residential buildings in two complexes, Hillside and La Loma.
Single, double, and triple rooms are arranged in suites that vary from three to eleven bedrooms.
Suites with five bedrooms or less are designated single-gender. Floors are all-gender.

Located in the Berkeley hills on the northeast side of campus at 2700 Hearst Ave.
Foothill Residence Hall is on the same side of campus as most STEM buildings, including the College of Engineering.

Room types

Suites: Collection of three to eleven bedrooms that share bathrooms, a common area, and a separate locked entrance.
Suites with five bedrooms or fewer are designated single-gender, while larger suites are all-gender.
Suites have separate locked entrances and shared common areas.

Room occupancy

Double, triple, and a limited number of single-occupancy rooms.
Suites vary from three to eleven bedrooms.
Double rooms are the most commonly available option.
General Note: There are very few single rooms at UC Berkeley, and they are typically reserved for students with a documented disability need.

- Front entrance: Suite entrances open from the courtyard into a foyer containing two chairs, two tables, a small couch, and a window.
- Bathroom: Adjacent to the foyer on the interior wall of the apartment, the bathroom consists of a private toilet with a sink, a private shower with a changing area, and a freestanding sink and mirror exterior to the bathroom. Suite bathroom layout will vary and may include multi-stall bathrooms.
- Bedrooms: Opposite the shower and toilet are two doors that open to the bedrooms. Suites in Foothill vary from 2 bedrooms, like the suite pictured, to eleven bedrooms.
- Single-bedroom: A single bedroom includes a twin extra-long bed, dresser, and cabinet along the far wall from the door. A desk and chair are oriented under dual exterior windows, opposite the wall from the bed. Against the inner wall, behind the desk, is a bookshelf.
- Triple-bedroom: A triple bedroom includes a hallway against the inner wall with two dressers to the left of the door. Down the hall, the first twin extra-long bed is oriented on the inner corner next to a desk and chair. Next to the desk is another desk, followed by the second bed. Opposite the second bed, three cabinets are aligned against the inner wall. The third bed and desk are against the exterior wall under dual windows.
