First-Year Student Housing
For newly admitted students starting their first year of college. Transfer Student Housing
For all transfer students, both newly admitted and continuing, you can live in any campus housing location for undergraduates. Enjoy the classic college experience in one of our residence halls, or the extra independence that comes with our apartment complexes. Plus, you can live in a dedicated Transfer Hub or in transfer-only Anchor House Apartments.
Continuing Undergraduate Housing
For undergraduate students in any phase of their academic journey after their first year. Housing is increasingly available for continuing students, and most who apply with flexible preferences will receive an offer. Your housing options include both residence halls and apartments.
Family Student Housing
Family student housing at University Village offers a welcoming community for both undergraduate and graduate students who have children or adult dependents, or who are married or partnered. This housing option provides a comfortable and supportive environment for you and your loved ones.
Independently-managed campus housing
Independently-managed campus housing are residential communities located on university-owned land but operated independently by nonprofit organizations under long-term ground leases. These housing facilities are not managed or operated by UC Berkeley Housing, and students must apply through separate admissions processes directly with each organization. International House: The International House Berkeley is a global community of undergraduate and graduate students, visiting scholars, and researchers from the United States and more than 70 countries. Through shared living, 150+ intercultural community events, and leadership programs, residents develop the cross-cultural understanding, lasting friendships, and global perspective needed to thrive in an interconnected world.
Residential college: Bowles Hall is a small, diverse community within UC Berkeley designed to help residents learn to embrace challenges and seek solutions to problems they will face in life beyond Berkeley. The Hall is designed to be a multi-year residential option, serving as a university home for the duration of the student’s undergraduate experience.
