About The Residence Hall Complex

  • A traditional residential hall experience in the urban heart of Berkeley, close to local cafes, restaurants, and shops. Conveniently located three blocks from the south side of campus.

  • Six buildings — Cunningham, Davidson, Ehrman, and Griffiths, the Towle mini-suites and the Wada Apartment building– built around a large central courtyard.

  • Double, triple, and a limited number of single occupancy rooms are available (General Note: There are very few single rooms, and they are typically reserved for students with a documented disability need).
  • Nearest dining commons: Crossroads, only a half-block away.

  • A central building houses the unit office, mail services, and rooms for meetings, events, and parties, as well as the Academic Services Center.

Who’s Eligible to Apply?

Undergraduates: First-year students, continuing students, and transfer students.

High Rise Residence Halls: Cunningham, Davidson, Ehrman, and Griffiths Halls

  • Eight floors of double- and triple-occupancy rooms, some double & triples in suites.

  • Approximately 230 students in each hall.

  • Most floors are all gender; single-gender floors also available.

  • Bathrooms: one large all-gender bathroom per floor; single-gender floors have single-gender community bathrooms.

  • Main lounge on entry level; additional lounges on upper floors.

  • Theme Programs:

Mini-Suite Residence Hall: Towle Hall

  • Mini-suites have two spacious bedrooms and one semi-private shared bathroom in these styles:

    • two double-occupancy bedrooms

    • one double-occupancy bedroom and one triple-occupancy bedroom

  • Mini-suites are single-gender.
