Located just three blocks from campus in a lively area, Unit 2 is a complex of six buildings built around a large courtyard.
A Triple Room in Units 1-3
Unit 2 includes both traditional residence hall rooms as well as mini-suites.
The Unit 2 lobby gives students a spacious place to hang out with friends.
In Unit 2's central lobby building, students can pick up mail, visit the Academic Services Center, and more.

About The Residence Hall Complex

A traditional residential hall experience in the urban heart of Berkeley, close to local cafes, restaurants, and shops. Conveniently located three blocks from the south side of campus.
Six buildings — Cunningham, Davidson, Ehrman, and Griffiths, the Towle mini-suites and the Wada Apartment building– built around a large central courtyard.
Double, triple, and a limited number of single occupancy rooms are available (General Note: There are very few single rooms, and they are typically reserved for students with a documented disability need).
Nearest dining commons: Crossroads, only a half-block away.
A central building houses the unit office, mail services, and rooms for meetings, events, and parties, as well as the Academic Services Center.

Who’s Eligible to Apply?

Undergraduates: First-year students, continuing students, and transfer students.

High Rise Residence Halls: Cunningham, Davidson, Ehrman, and Griffiths Halls

Eight floors of double- and triple-occupancy rooms, some double & triples in suites.
Approximately 230 students in each hall.
Most floors are all gender; single-gender floors also available.
Bathrooms: one large all-gender bathroom per floor; single-gender floors have single-gender community bathrooms.
Main lounge on entry level; additional lounges on upper floors.
Theme Programs:
- Bloom: Asian American Community Program is located in Towle Hall.
- The South Asian, Southwest Asian, and North African Living Community-SSWANA is located in Towle Hall.

Mini-Suite Residence Hall: Towle Hall

Mini-suites have two spacious bedrooms and one semi-private shared bathroom in these styles:
- two double-occupancy bedrooms
- one double-occupancy bedroom and one triple-occupancy bedroom
Mini-suites are single-gender.

Room Layouts

- Entry and opposing wall: The bedroom door swings inward into the room and faces a window centered on the opposing wall.
- Closets: to the left and right of the door, each student has a closet, a mirror, and a light.
  Left wall: The wall to the left of the door has one bookshelf and an extra-long twin bed
- Right wall: The wall to the left of the door has one bookshelf and an extra-long twin bed
- Study desks: Two study desks, each with a chair, are aligned to the center with one desk oriented with easy access from each student's side of the room.

- Entry and opposing wall: The bedroom door opens from the upper left corner. To the right of the door, two closets are built into the interior wall.
- Loft bed: In front of the door is a single dresser and a loft bed with a mattress.
- Desks: Two desks are under the loft bed, and the third is against the exterior wall, facing the window.
  Bunk bed: Opposite the loft bed is a bunk bed with a lower and upper mattress.
- Dresser: At the foot of the bunk bed is a double dresser.

- Entrance: The mini-suite door opens to a foyer. A door to the left opens to a double-occupancy bedroom, and a door ahead opens to a triple-occupancy bedroom. A door to the right opens to the bathroom
- Double-occupancy bedroom: Each double-occupancy bedroom has two extra-long twin beds, two closets, two desks, two chairs, and built-in drawers.
- Triple-occupancy bedroom: A triple-occupancy bedroom contains one loft bed on the left wall with bookshelf, three desks with chair adjacent the exterior window, a bunk bed, and closet and dressers along the interior wall.
- Bathroom: The bathroom contains a private toilet, shower with private changing area, two sinks, and two mirrors.
