Full-Year Housing Rates

Review basic rates for all campus housing below. Rates are typically updated in March. Students may opt to pay by installment plan (5 fall and 5 spring installments) if desired.

Academic Year 2020–21 Projected Rates for Residence Hall Contracts 

Do you receive financial aid? If so, you’ll get a “Living in a Campus Residence Hall” budget in your financial aid package. Please review your financial aid package and plan accordingly. Learn more about your cost of attendance and financial aid.

Notes about residence hall rates and fees:

  • All residence hall contracts include a $5,300 Blue Meal Plan. You may upgrade your plan if desired. Learn more about meal plan options.
  • Spring-only contract rates are half of the full-year rates (5 installments instead of 10).

Fees not included in residence hall contracts (will appear as a separate fee on student Cal Central accounts):

  • $45 Student Experience Fee managed by Residential Life (for all undergraduate students living in residence halls)
  • $380 GBO Housing Fee for August 18–23 (only for new students with Fall/Spring contracts)

  • Apartment rates do not include meal plans. However, off-campus meal plans are available.

Rates show how many people will occupy a bedroom. All apartments have two or more bedrooms that share a kitchen, living area, and bathroom(s).

The University endeavors to keep housing expenses as low as possible but sometimes must raise rates to account for increasing costs beyond its control, such as energy, supply/material, and labor costs. Every year the rates are re-examined and a modest percent increase may be applied.
